Privacy Policy

What we handle, where it lives and what you can do about it. Your birthday stays on your device.

The short version

Your name and birthday stay on your own device. We do not have accounts and we do not keep a list of users’ birthdays.
We count simple actions (like “a chart was made”) to see what works. Never names or birthdays.
If you buy something, our payment provider, Gumroad, handles your payment and keeps the purchase record. We never see your card details and do not keep a copy of that record.
An invite link contains your birthday. Share it with care.

1. Who is responsible

MatchMyNumber (matchmynumber.com) is responsible for your information under the data protection laws that apply to you, such as the GDPR. Contact: [email protected].

2. What we handle, and where it lives

Information	What happens to it
Your first name and date of birth	Used in your browser to work out your chart. Saved on this device so it is still there when you return. Not sent to our servers.
Names, birthdays and relationship labels of people you add	Same: saved only on this device. Please only add people you know, and use first names.
Invite links	A link you create contains your first name, your birthday, and the relationship label you picked. Anyone who has the link can read those. The part after the # in a link is never sent to our servers when it is opened.
Link previews	When a link is shared, the preview image can depend on a single number (1 to 9) in the link’s address. That number is not a birthday.
Usage counts	Anonymous events such as “chart made” or “unlock opened”, to improve the site. Provided through Cloudflare analytics. Each uses a random ID that is not linked to your name, and notes where you first came from. They do not include names or birthdays.
Purchases	Gumroad processes payment and keeps your purchase record, including the email you gave at checkout, under its own terms. We never see your card details. When you restore an unlock, our server asks Gumroad whether your license key is valid and still active. We do not store the answer or your purchase details.
Your email address (only if you give it)	If you ask for your reading by email, we keep your email address, your number and how many people you have added. We use them to send what you asked for and a short note when new readings open. You can unsubscribe at any time, or email [email protected] and we will remove it.
Technical logs	Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard request details such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability.

3. Why we use it

To show you your chart and the pairings you ask for.
To process purchases and give support.
To keep the site secure and understand what is useful.

We do not sell your information. We do not use birthdays for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

Only the providers needed to run the site: hosting and analytics (Cloudflare), payments (Gumroad) and, if you give us your email, an email delivery service. They process information for us under their own terms. We may also share information if the law requires it.

5. Your choices

Delete your data. Tap “Clear my data” in the footer. This removes your chart and the people you added from this device. Your purchase unlock stays, so you never lose what you paid for. On a new device, use “Restore a purchase”.
Access, correct or withdraw. You can ask us what we hold about you (for example your email address or a message you sent us), ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent. Email [email protected].
Links you already sent. We cannot remove a link from someone else’s chat. If you are worried about a link, you can create a new one without a birthday you no longer want to share.

6. How long we keep it

Information on your device stays until you clear it. Your email address is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Gumroad keeps purchase records for as long as its rules and accounting and tax rules require. Anonymous counts are kept as long as they are useful.

7. Children

MatchMyNumber is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has used the site, please tell us at [email protected].

8. Other countries

Our providers may process information in other countries. We choose providers that protect it to a reasonable standard.

9. Changes and contact

If we change this policy, the date at the bottom of the page will change, and we will say so on the site if it matters. Questions or requests: [email protected].
